Intel is launching an enterprise GPU with 480 GB of smartphone RAM

Intel launched Xeon 6+ server CPUs, led by the 288-core Xeon 6990E+, as its first commercial data center chips built on the 18A process.

The company also previewed Crescent Island, a new data center GPU that uses up to 480 GB of LPDDR5x memory instead of HBM.

Intel added a new Xeon 6300 entry server chip and E835 Ethernet adapters to round out its AI infrastructure hardware lineup.

The move signals a broader Intel push to compete in data centers with new CPUs, networking gear, and a lower-power enterprise GPU.
