Ozempic and Wegovy have a successor: retatrutide shatters all weight-loss records

Eli Lilly said its experimental obesity drug retatrutide cut average body weight by 30.3% after 104 weeks in a trial of adults with obesity or overweight.

Retatrutide is a triple agonist targeting GLP-1, GIP and glucagon, and the results suggest it could outperform current weight-loss drugs.

The findings come from the TRIUMPH-1 study, but full peer-reviewed safety and efficacy data are still pending.

If confirmed, retatrutide could become a major new option in obesity treatment beyond drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy.
