Microsoft finally has a Windows 11 upgrade everyone can get behind

Microsoft says it is putting Windows 11 quality and core reliability first, while still supporting secure on-device AI.

Tests under way include a movable taskbar, lower memory usage, faster File Explorer and Search, better shell responsiveness, and less Copilot branding.

The shift appears to respond to a year of update problems, including boot failures, BitLocker prompts, OneDrive issues, and Dell-specific overheating and battery drain bugs.

With Windows revenue under pressure, improving the core experience could help restore user trust and strengthen the platform’s appeal.
