SoftBank Group to Invest Up to 75 Billion Euros (About 14 Trillion Yen) in France to Build 5GW AI Data Centers

SoftBank Group plans to invest up to 75 billion euros to develop and operate 5 GW of AI data centers in France.

The first phase will build facilities at multiple sites in northern France, targeting 3.1 GW in Hauts-de-France by 2031.

The announcement was made at President Macron's investment summit, with partners including SB Energy.

The project could strengthen France's role as a major AI infrastructure hub in Europe, while boosting related investment and jobs.
