Three takeaways from the Apple chip report, with one worrying prospect

Bloomberg says Apple has explored future chip production with Intel and Samsung to reduce its dependence on TSMC.

For now, both rivals may only be able to make older-generation processors, not Apple’s most advanced A-series and M-series chips.

That means Apple could gain backup suppliers for resilience, but still rely on TSMC for leading-edge devices.

Any move could also create differences in chip performance and quality across Apple products.
