Microsoft unveiled Project Solara at Build 2026, an AOSP-based, chip-to-cloud platform for agent-first devices rather than a Windows model.

The concept emphasizes AI agents, just-in-time UI, and enterprise controls to move away from app-centric workflows across hardware and cloud.

Microsoft showed reference devices, Badge Concept and Desk Concept, and said pilots with several companies are planned later in 2026.
