iOS 26.5 release date: Here’s when new iPhone features are coming

Apple has confirmed iOS 26.5 will launch in May, with a mid-May release looking likely based on past x.5 update timing.

The beta includes Apple Maps Suggested Places, a new Pride wallpaper, and usability tweaks for accessories like Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse.

Messages may gain RCS end-to-end encryption, a major privacy upgrade if it ships in the final release.

In the EU, Live Activities support is also expected for third-party accessories, adding another region-specific feature.
