Lawson tests stablecoin payments at POS registers in two stores

Lawson will run a pilot in August to test stablecoin payments by scanning barcodes directly at store POS registers.

On August 6, the Takanawa Gateway City store will test JPYC, and on August 17, the Gate City Osaki Atrium store will test USDC, USDT, and JPYC.

The closed-door trial will verify payment flow, processing time, and system integration with partners.

If stablecoin payments can be integrated into POS without dedicated terminals, adoption in retail stores could become much easier.
