Final Fantasy 14 Hits Switch 2 in August With a New Subscription Twist

Square Enix announced Final Fantasy 14 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in August with a separate subscription.

The Switch 2 version will support cross-progression, and players get the first month free.

The move brings FF14 to a Nintendo platform for the first time, though the extra fee could affect adoption.

Square Enix also unveiled the Evercold expansion for January 2027, adding new jobs, a higher level cap, new areas, and an Evangelion crossover raid.
