Android 17’s ‘Continue On’ will let you move tasks between devices, like Apple’s Handoff

Google announced “Continue On” for Android 17, a cross-device handoff feature that surfaces ongoing activity from one signed-in Android device on another.

The first rollout focuses on phone-to-tablet transfers for supported apps such as Docs, Gmail, and Chrome.

Users will be able to pick up where they left off without restarting their work, making Android more seamless across devices.

The feature narrows a long-standing gap with Apple Handoff and strengthens Google’s Android ecosystem.
