GM Adds Google Gemini for Drivers to Rev Up With AI Assistant

GM will roll out Google Gemini to about 4 million model-year 2022+ vehicles with Google built-in across Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac.

The update will arrive over several months and let drivers use Gemini by voice, the mic icon or steering-wheel controls after opting in and meeting account and language requirements.

GM says the AI assistant will help with navigation, entertainment and vehicle functions, expanding in-car AI at scale.

The move could reduce reliance on phone-mirroring systems like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as GM deepens its software-first strategy.
