PlayStation finally explains 30-day timer for digital games, says it’s only a one-time check

Sony says the new 30-day timer on some PS4 and PS5 digital purchases is only a one-time online license verification.

It is not a recurring check-in requirement, easing fears that players could lose access to games without regular internet access.

The clarification comes after concern over digital ownership and DRM behavior on PlayStation.

It may also reflect Sony’s effort to tighten fraud protection around refunds and digital purchases.
