Spain launches floating solar platform that uses the sea to improve power output

BlueNewables launched Paiporta, its first PV-bos marine floating solar platform, at the San Enrique shipyard in Vigo.

The system will be commissioned next and then undergo open-sea validation near Valencia.

The project is designed to test floating solar in marine conditions, beyond land-constrained sites.

It could help open the door to hybrid renewable projects, including combinations with offshore wind.
