"Patlabor" New Work Released for Free on Big Comic for the First Time in 32 Years: "For Those Who Couldn't Get Spirits, Please Enjoy It"

Shogakukan’s comic site Big Comic has made the new one-shot “Patlabor 2026” free to read until June 7.

Published in Weekly Big Comic Spirits, it is the first completely new Patlabor story in 32 years.

Set in Tokyo in 2026, the story features Goto Kiichi and other familiar characters.

The free release is likely to renew attention on the long-running Patlabor franchise and related projects.
