Anthropic acquires Stainless to better integrate agents and tools

Anthropic acquired Stainless, the company behind its official Claude API SDKs.

The deal is meant to strengthen Claude’s SDK, CLI, and MCP tooling for better agent connectivity.

Anthropic wants tighter control over the software layer that links Claude agents to external APIs, data, and services.

The move should improve developer tools and help broaden adoption of the Claude platform.
