New AI Blood Test Predicts Stroke, Heart Failure, and More up to 15 Years in Advance

Researchers at the University of Hong Kong developed CardiOmicScore, an AI blood test that uses multiomics data to predict risk for six major cardiovascular diseases.

The model can flag warning signs up to 15 years before clinical diagnosis, including stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and coronary artery disease.

Built on UK Biobank data and published in Nature Communications, the tool outperformed standard risk checks and genetic scores in early detection.

Researchers say it could support much earlier prevention and intervention for major heart and blood vessel diseases.
