Meta is reassigning 7,000 workers to AI jobs while laying off thousands more

Meta is reshuffling 7,000 workers into four new AI-focused organizations while cutting about 8,000 jobs worldwide and leaving 6,000 roles unfilled.

The new teams will center on AI tools, agents, analytics, and enterprise solutions, as Meta moves toward leaner structures and smaller pods.

Meta is also boosting AI investment and tracking employee activity to help train AI agents, a move that has sparked internal backlash.
