Large-scale 'Semiconductor Science Park' to be built in Kumamoto; core facility to be developed by Mitsui Fudosan

Mitsui Fudosan signed a basic agreement with Kumamoto Prefecture and Koshi City to develop a semiconductor science park in Kumamoto.

The core 31-hectare area is set to begin development in 2026, with full completion targeted for 2030.

The project aims to support R&D and mass-production functions for the local chip cluster, while attracting companies and strengthening the supply chain.

It is designed to accelerate regional industrial growth around key players such as JASM, Tokyo Electron Kyushu, and Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing.
