A new OnlyOffice fork is Europe's answer to Microsoft Office

Euro-Office is an open-source productivity suite built by a European consortium as a locally developed alternative to Microsoft Office.

The preview is available on GitHub and a 1.0 release is expected this summer; it supports docx, pptx, xlsx and ODF.

OnlyOffice has accused the fork of violating AGPLv3 licensing conditions, while Euro-Office backers cite OnlyOffice's Russian origins and transparency issues.

The project is tied to broader European digital sovereignty efforts to reduce dependence on non-European tech providers.
