Apple Maps is becoming Ford’s new navigation mode for select vehicles

Apple said Ford will embed Apple Maps directly into select vehicles on its Universal Electric Vehicle Platform starting in 2027.

The integration uses MapKit for Automotive and adds turn-by-turn navigation, live traffic, place search, and EV routing with battery preconditioning.

Ford may also use Apple’s road-level map data to support hands-free driving features, while CarPlay will still be offered as an option.

The deal expands Apple Maps beyond iPhone and CarPlay into native in-car navigation and could point to broader Apple automaker partnerships.
