Apple is reportedly planning an Extensions feature in iOS 27 that lets users choose third-party AI models for Apple Intelligence.

Apps from AI providers could opt in through the App Store, enabling external models in features like Writing Tools, Siri, and Image Playground.

The change is expected to expand to iPadOS 27 and macOS 27, with a possible announcement at WWDC and release later in the year.
