Square Enix scraps original Dragon Quest 12, will now release as Dragon Quest 12 Beyond Dreams

Square Enix has rebooted Dragon Quest 12 as Dragon Quest 12: Beyond Dreams.

The game will feature a new protagonist and storyline, replacing the previously announced Flames of Fate version.

No release date was announced, underscoring a major delay for one of Square Enix’s flagship RPGs.

The company also revealed additional Dragon Quest releases for Switch platforms at its 40th anniversary stream.
