Amazon Reportedly in Talks to Buy Apple Satellite Partner Globalstar

Amazon is in talks to buy Globalstar, with the company valued at roughly $9 billion in the proposed deal.

Apple holds a 20% stake in Globalstar from a $1.5 billion investment in 2024.

Under its agreement Apple can access 85% of Globalstar’s satellite capacity, which supports iPhone features like Emergency SOS, Messages via satellite, and Find My location updates.

No deal has been finalized and Apple has not publicly commented.

Amazon already operates more than 180 satellites through its Leo satellite internet program.
