Huawei Kirin 9050 Surpasses Apple A18, Launching with Mate 90 This Fall

Huawei is reportedly set to launch the Kirin 9050 with the Mate 90 series in September 2026.

The chip is said to outperform Apple’s A18, based on claims from industry reports and an ISCAS 2026 technical presentation.

Huawei’s approach reportedly uses 3D IC stacking and its Tau Law framework to raise transistor density without advanced EUV scaling.

If confirmed in real devices, the Kirin 9050 would be a major milestone for Huawei and a sign of high-end performance under export limits.
