A New York Times investigation found hundreds of AI-generated ads on Facebook and Instagram using fake doctors and health gurus to push dubious supplements and false medical claims.

The ads can spread dangerous medical misinformation, target vulnerable people, and slip past enforcement that would block them in traditional advertising.
