Sonic Fire Tech demonstrated an AI-triggered infrasound system that extinguished a small kitchen fire in a test.

The startup says low-frequency sound could offer a fast, water-free alternative to conventional sprinklers for homes and sensitive facilities.

Fire protection experts say the public evidence is not enough yet, and NFPA 13D equivalency requires formal technical documentation and approval.

If validated, the approach could broaden fire-protection options; if not, replacing proven sprinkler systems could create serious safety risks.
