Last year, almost no robot finished the Beijing half marathon. This year, one beat the human world record by seven minutes

At the Beijing Half Marathon, the humanoid robot Lightning finished in 50:26.

That time beat Jacob Kiplimo’s human world record by nearly seven minutes.

Other humanoid robots also placed near the top, and most of the robots finished the race.

The event highlighted major progress in robot endurance, stability, and autonomy.
