Scientists Searching 6,000 Drugs For Anti-Aging Properties Found One Hiding in Plain Sight

Researchers at Northeastern University and Harvard Medical School used a network-based screen to evaluate 6,442 existing drugs for aging-related targets.

The method flagged oxymetazoline, a common nasal spray and eye/skin treatment, as a candidate that may help improve cell-to-cell communication.

Aspirin also emerged as a promising drug for aging research.

The approach could speed up and lower the cost of finding repurposed medicines that act on multiple aging pathways.
