Marathon's Game Director admits it's "overwhelming to learn" and too sweaty

Bungie says Marathon is too overwhelming for many newcomers and too intense overall, prompting a Season 2 rethink.

Season 2 will add two new PvE-focused modes, improved onboarding, better matchmaking, and broader progression.

The update is meant to lower friction and make the extraction shooter more approachable beyond hardcore players.

New content is also planned, including Night Marsh and the Sentinel Runner shell on Tau Ceti IV.
