Sony Set To Pay $7.8 Million To PlayStation Users After Judge Approves Preliminary Settlement In PSN Digital Games Class Action Lawsuit

A U.S. federal judge preliminarily approved a class action settlement in Caccuri v. Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC.

Sony would pay about $7.7 million to certain U.S. customers who bought specified digital games on PSN between April 2019 and December 2023.

If finalized, eligible PlayStation users could receive compensation tied to the alleged restrictions on third-party digital game sales.

A fairness hearing is scheduled for October 2026, and final approval is still pending.
