China: Geely beats BYD in EV battery charging with 10% to 70% in 4.22 minutes

Lynk & Co’s Energee Golden Brick Battery hit a peak charging power of 1,100 kW in a test using Zeekr’s V4 megawatt flash charging piles.

The battery charged from 10% to 70% state of charge in 4 minutes 22 seconds, per CarNewsChina test data.

It reached 10%→80% in 5 minutes 32 seconds and 10%→97% in 8 minutes 42 seconds; charging power stayed above 500 kW after 80% SOC.

In the same comparison, Lynk & Co’s tech charged faster than BYD’s blade battery; BYD’s megawatt flash charging does 10%→70% in 5 minutes and 10%→97% in 9 minutes.

Geely’s self-built charging network has 2,103 stations and 10,212 piles as of end-February 2026; BYD has installed its 5,000th megawatt flash station and aims for 20,000 by year-end.
