Stellar Blade dev Shift Up has acquired Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami’s new studio

Shift Up announced it purchased all shares of Tokyo-based Unbound, the studio Shinji Mikami founded in 2023.

Unbound reportedly has around 50 employees working on an original IP for consoles and PC.

Shift Up said it will publish Unbound’s games and provide development resources while citing a shared creative vision with Mikami.

A teaser video released with the announcement shows a multi-winged creature over a ruined city, suggesting a glimpse of Mikami’s next game.
