iPhones on space missions are as valuable as they are fun

NASA has approved iPhone 17 Pro Max devices for the Artemis II moon mission.

The crew’s spacesuits were fitted with pockets for the phones after they passed spaceflight safety reviews.

The iPhones will be used alongside pro cameras like the Nikon D5 to capture informal, behind-the-scenes imagery.

NASA hopes the familiar devices will make the mission feel more relatable and boost public engagement and support.
