Amazon to acquire Globalstar, seeks to succeed to Apple's 20% stake

Amazon is moving ahead with its acquisition of Globalstar and has filed with the U.S. FCC to transfer the relevant licenses.

If the deal closes, Amazon will also inherit Apple’s 20% stake in Globalstar.

Amazon said Apple’s existing satellite connectivity service will remain in place.

Globalstar will continue to support Apple’s Emergency SOS feature, but the ownership shift could reshape future partnerships and competition in satellite communications.
