Anthropic commits $10 million to Canadian AI research

Anthropic is committing CAD 10 million to Canadian AI research institutions to support responsible and applied AI work.

The company will partner with groups including the University of Toronto, Université de Montréal, University of Alberta, Amii, Mila, and Vector Institute.

Hospitals and universities such as CHEO and CAMH will also get Claude access for health, safety, and trust-focused research.

The funding is meant to strengthen Canada’s AI ecosystem and expand its role in global AI development.
