Hugging Face’s new $2.5k LeRobot Humanoid brings 3D-printed robotics within reach

Hugging Face introduced LeRobot Humanoid, an experimental open-source bipedal robotics platform built from 3D-printed parts and off-the-shelf components.

The current parts cost is about $2,500, making it far cheaper than many humanoid robot platforms.

Its workflow spans design, simulation, data collection, system identification, training, and real-world control to support rapid iteration.

The platform currently supports lower-body locomotion, calibration, and walking experiments, with upper-body features planned later.

The low-cost, open design could make humanoid robotics more accessible to hobbyists, researchers, and developers.
