Goodbye, Llama? Meta launches new proprietary AI model Muse Spark — first since Superintelligence Labs' formation

Meta has unveiled Muse Spark, a proprietary multimodal reasoning model built to support personal-superintelligence experiences.

The model includes visual chain-of-thought and multi-agent capabilities, but it is currently limited to the Meta AI app, the website, and a private API preview.

The move suggests Meta may be shifting away from its open Llama strategy toward a more closed, frontier-AI roadmap.

That raises questions about the future of Llama and Llama 4, as well as how users and developers will access Meta’s AI stack.
