1X says its Neo humanoid robot will have hands with 22 actuated degrees of freedom and unusually fast, dexterous movement.

Product chief Dar Sleeper says that matters more than simple DOF counts because each joint can be actively controlled in both directions with better feedback and posing.

If Neo delivers, the more capable hands could make humanoid robots more useful in real-world tasks and less uncanny in human settings.
