HomeKit Weekly: New SwitchBot Lock Vision brings facial recognition and Matter over Wi-Fi

SwitchBot launched the Lock Vision and Lock Vision Pro smart locks with 3D facial recognition and Matter over Wi‑Fi support for Apple Home.

Both locks store biometric data locally in encrypted form and include dual-battery backup for added reliability.

The Pro model adds fingerprint and palm-scanning unlock options for more flexible access.

The new models bring native Apple Home compatibility without a separate hub, but they still do not support Apple Home Key.
