You can now send Codex tasks from your phone even when your Mac is locked

OpenAI updated Codex for Mac with a locked-computer mode for remote task execution.

Users can send tasks from a phone and let Codex use Mac apps even when the screen is off.

The Mac temporarily unlocks only for the task, then relocks if input is detected.

Safety controls include app-by-app approval, screen masking, and stop/takeover options.

The feature needs the Computer Use plugin and is not launching in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
