As Chinese phone market reportedly picks up steam, iPhone could be a standout winner

China’s phone shipments rose in April, with smartphones growing faster than the overall market.

Foreign-branded phones, including iPhones, also posted a modest increase, according to CAICT.

But shipments for January through April were still down year over year, showing the recovery is not yet complete.

Apple has already shown signs of rebound in Greater China revenue, and a stronger market could help future iPhone sales and earnings.
