Tesla reveals details of 17 ‘Robotaxi’ crashes: New safety concerns emerge

Tesla unsealed 17 Robotaxi crash narratives from its Austin test program, giving the first detailed public look at its autonomous-driving incidents.

Most crashes were caused by other road users hitting the vehicles, but a smaller number involved Tesla-related failures in remote control, parking, and obstacle avoidance.

The reports highlight both common external crash risks and unresolved weaknesses in Tesla’s software and backup control systems.
