Sega’s Streets of Rage movie is now being written by the duo behind the Sonic the Hedgehog films

Sega’s live-action Streets of Rage movie has new creative leads: Pat Casey and Josh Miller are writing, and Jaymes Samuel is set to direct for Lionsgate.

Variety says Derek Kolstad’s earlier draft has been replaced as the adaptation moves forward.

The film is expected to draw on the game’s characters, electronic soundtrack, and beat-’em-up action style.

Sega also has a new Streets of Rage game in development.
