Cohere open-sources its strongest model yet

Cohere has open-sourced Command A+ under Apache 2.0, making its enterprise-focused multimodal model broadly available to developers and businesses.

The model uses 218B total parameters with 25B active, supports text and images in 48 languages, and is tuned for agentic workflows, RAG, and multilingual document processing.

Cohere says Command A+ can run on two Nvidia H100 GPUs or a single Blackwell GPU, making deployment relatively efficient for its size.

The company says it beats its predecessor on agent and coding benchmarks, and the weights are available on Hugging Face in multiple quantizations.
