Intel Crescent Island “Xe3P” GPU Scales to 480 GB of “Cost-Optimized” LPDDR5X Memory, Beating NVIDIA Rubin and AMD MI450X With Highest Capacity

Intel unveiled Crescent Island, a data center GPU based on the Xe3P architecture for AI inference workloads.

Partner boards can support up to 480 GB of LPDDR5X, giving the chip unusually large memory capacity without using HBM.

The design is air-cooled and GPGPU-only, aimed at maximizing compute area while keeping cost and power lower.

Intel expects to begin customer sampling in the second half of 2026, positioning it against higher-end AI accelerators.
