Where and When to Watch NASA’s Roman Space Telescope Launch This Weekend

NASA plans to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy from Florida on Aug. 30, 2026.

Liftoff is targeted for 7:26 a.m. EDT, with NASA’s live coverage beginning at 6:20 a.m.

After about 100 days of commissioning, Roman will travel to the Sun-Earth L2 point and begin its wide-field survey.

The mission is expected to advance research on dark energy and dark matter while finding tens of thousands of exoplanets.
