Building Katha: A Bilingual Phonics Companion with Gemini 2.5 Flash

Katha is a web-based bilingual phonics and pronunciation companion built for the Google Gen AI Academy APAC campaign.

Using Gemini 2.5 Flash and the Google Gen AI SDK, it generates short culturally relevant stories in English and a local language.

The app evaluates a child’s spoken pronunciation and gives encouraging feedback to support early language learning.

It aims to fill a gap in localized, child-friendly phonics tools for bilingual learners in APAC households.
