Airbus had the world’s only center for converting commercial aircraft into military tankers. Now it will open another one in Seville

Airbus will open its second global A330 MRTT conversion site in Seville, Spain, after choosing the city to expand its military tanker program.

The new facility will mirror the Getafe line and also handle maintenance and upgrades, using the San Pablo hangars.

It is expected to create about 200 direct jobs and be operational by the end of 2027.

The plant should help ease the single-line bottleneck and raise annual conversions from five to seven, strengthening Andalusia’s aerospace and defense role.
