Apple Inks Preliminary Chip Agreement With Intel Amid Shortages, Report Says

Apple is reportedly nearing a preliminary chip supply deal with Intel as it seeks to ease shortages and diversify beyond TSMC.

Earlier reports said Apple was also considering Samsung as an additional supplier to broaden its chip sourcing.

The talks could reduce Apple’s exposure to supply-chain bottlenecks and reshape where its semiconductors are made.

A shift toward Intel foundry production would also support more U.S.-based chip manufacturing.
