YouTube Premium just got more expensive, and nobody got a heads up

YouTube is raising the price of every YouTube Premium plan, including individual, family, Lite, student, and annual subscriptions.

The new charges will start appearing on users’ May 16, 2026 billing dates.

The increase makes ad-free YouTube and other Premium perks more expensive for all paid users.

Subscribers may reconsider their plans or cancel, as Premium moves closer to the pricing of other major streaming services.
